Practice Areas

Your search indicates that you may have an interest in, or a need for a lawyer practicing in, Real Estate, Estate Planning and Probate (including guardianship and conservatorship issues), Business Organizations, Family Law, Elder Law, and Civil Litigation.

In today's legal environment, matching your needs with the correct firm is crucial to the successful outcome of your legal matters. Like so many other areas, in law, the pace of change can be "breakneck," the details overwhelming.

As an informed consumer of legal services, you need to be sure that the firm you select is in fact qualified to handle the matter at hand. Today, that's more important than ever.

To that end, what follows is a brief description of the type of matters we successfully handle. We have made a solid commitment to these areas of the law so that we can assure you the best possible legal representation.

Real Estate: Our firm represents both commercial clients and individuals in all proceedings and transactions that deal with real property - land and the structures attached to it - including purchase and sale, construction, mortgages and foreclosures, leases, zoning, title examinations, quiet title actions, and closings. Our attorneys are also licensed title insurance agents for Attorney's Title Guaranty Fund, Inc., providing a complete line of title insurance services. We have recently formed an abstracting company, A & J Abstract & Title -- a full-service company for all your real estate requirements.

Estate Planning and Probate: Our firm handles Estate Planning matters which is the area dealing with the distribution of an individual's property at his or her death, taking into account wills, taxes, insurance, property, and trusts so as to gain maximum benefit of all laws and, at the same time, carrying out the person's wishes. We also handle Probate, which is the court proceeding through which the estate of a decedent is administered. The process, generally, includes collecting a decedent's assets, liquidating liabilities, paying necessary taxes, and distribution of property to heirs.

Business Organizations: The form of business chosen for a business entity potentially affects every aspect of its operations. Our firm assists our clients in formation and business planning in deciding whether they want to operate as a closely held business, limited liability company, partnership, or corporation.

Family Law: Our firm handles a full range of Family Law matters including adoption, divorce, separation, premarital agreements, paternity, custody, and support.

Civil Litigation: Our firm handles civil litigation issues, both as plantiff's and defendant's attorneys.

Elder Law: Our firm handles medical assistance, guardianship, and conservatorship matters.
